Economic and Humanitarian Forum Russia - Africa 2023 is an important venue for discussing the major trends in the global agricultural market, finding partners, concluding lucrative business contacts, and entering African markets. We hope this event will open up new opportunities for promoting products and will help to strengthen business partnerships among different countries.
Africa is an important market for the Russian agro-industrial complex. Population growth, agricultural development and environmental conditions make Africa an attractive market for Russian companies. African countries are major buyers of grain, oil and fat products. Our goal is to maintain positive development and to ensure the growth of mutual trade with African countries.
The Ministry of Agriculture is investing all efforts to creating reliable and sustainable food supply chains with Africa. Our Ministry’s representatives are working in eight African countries on strengthening cooperation. Their work facilitates interaction among Russian companies, African businesses and governmental agencies, and helps to boost mutual trade.
The expansion of Russian-African trade and the intensification of cooperation require building long-term business ties. Therefore, the Russian Ministry of Agriculture and the Federal Center Agroexport has organized a joint exposition of Russian agricultural products.

The African continent is an important market for Russian agricultural products. The middle class is growing at a rapid pace on the African continent, driving demand towards more expensive food products and beverages, and expanding the product range.
In the context of rapidly changing food markets, it is more important than ever to intensify ties and to create direct contacts between Russian and international businesses.
Agroexport actively helps Russian exporters that are planning to work in this region. It has published 15 export guides and analytical reviews of foreign businesses operating in 16 African countries. In the period 2022-2023, Agroexport organized a business mission to the Republic of Angola, the African Agromarathon-2022 with an online conference dedicated to the export of Russian agricultural products to African countries, and an online business mission connecting Russian agricultural export companies and the buyers from 10 African countries.
I am sure that direct contacts between business representatives from Russia and African countries will contribute to building long-term mutually beneficial relations. The Russian-African food trade has a great future, and the exposition at the forum will be another important step in its development.

The Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation is the federal executive body responsible for elaboration of state and legal regulatory policies within the national agro-industrial complex; agricultural, raw materials and food market; food and processing industries; sustainable development of rural areas, and demesnial relations applicable to agricultural land. The Ministry coordinates and monitors the activities of its subordinates – the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) and the Federal Agency for Fisheries (Rosrybolovstvo).
The Federal State Budgetary Institution "Agroexport" is a center of knowledge and competence in the field of agricultural export, created by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation. It controls and coordinates the implementation of the Federal Project "Export of Agricultural Products", and also cooperates with the management bodies of the agro-industrial complex in terms of the regional projects’ implementation and export potential development of the Russian territorial entities. "Agroexport" possesses unique competencies in the field of foreign markets analysis, trade barriers assessment, food products promotion and positioning, consulting on state support programs for agro-industrial complex exporters, organization of export events - exhibitions, conferences, training seminars, business missions
